CYCLING TRAIL ALONG THE MAIRA
CYCLING TRAIL ALONG THE MAIRA
The Maira trail is a tourist route that will take us from Racconigi to Dronero, passing through the towns of Cavallerleone, Cavallermaggiore, Savigliano, Vottignasco, Villafalletto and Busca. It is an itinerary that can be travelled by MTB or gravel bike, complete with signs indicating the route and providing information about the environment. Along the way, you will come across different kinds of surroundings: we will flank cultivated fields on dirt roads and go through the riverside vegetation that is all that remains of the ancient river forest. The route does not present particular technical difficulties and is suitable for all cyclists.

CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA DELLA PIEVE - SAVIGLIANO
Considered the oldest parish church in the city, the chiesa di Santa Maria is a real art gallery dedicated to the 17th century, originally built in the sixth century. Its current structure dates to between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It has one nave, in which several side chapels open up, embellished with works by Giovanni Antonio Molineri from Savigliano. In the nineteenth century, the bell tower was used as an observatory by Savigliano-born astronomer Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli.

QUAGLIANO WINE ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM - COSTIGLIOLE SALUZZO
On the hills of Costigliole Saluzzo, this ethnographic museum, housed in an eighteenth-century villa, exhibits objects that communicate a wealth of testimonies about the area and its people to visitors: curious objects, rich in value because they represent more widespread, general phenomena or experiences in a particularly intense, rare and significant way. True testimonies that the museum has acquired and preserves with the clear intention of preventing their disappearance and passing them down to future generations. Visitors are guided not only through the rooms of the museum, but also through the years and customs of a world now destined to disappear.
