Attilio Mussino, the artist famous for his illustration of Carlo Collodi’s Pinocchio , lived the last part of his life in Vernante, a small town in the Vermenagna Valley which honoured him by dedicating this museum to him.

The history of the industrial area of Savigliano, specialized in the construction of high-speed trains, dates back to the mid-nineteenth century. The Museo Ferroviario Piemontese tells the story of this epic age and celebrates the means of transport that left its mark on an era, showcasing a large exhibition of railway vehicles saved from demolition.

Situated in a pleasant position between the villas and orchards of the Saluzzo hills, the complex was built according to the wishes of the Marquis Ludovico I in 1471, and renovated in the mid-eighteenth century. The interior of the church, featuring a single nave with side chapels, has an eighteenth-century appearance. The interesting cloister is also worth seeing.
